My favorite site Gilt.com featured Azaara jewelry today and I must say they are truly beautiful pieces to add to your jewelry box.  I had a chance to work at a boutique that featured Azaara and fell in love with ever since.  Here are some items found on gilt.com that are up on sale at a reasonable price!

Behind The Scenes...

Atlantis Now's editor in chief Jeremy Roussel asked a bestie friend of mine, Starr, to style a fashion shoot for his new up and coming magazine.  Of course, I couldn't pass on this exciting moment to style for an amazing magazine!  Although it was a hot humid late afternoon in New Orleans, we took the shots at Audubon Park and had a great time with photographer Michael and model Ashlea.  Thanks to Katie Pierce, another awesome person, from Hemline on Magazine St. she allowed us to use pieces from the shop.  Special thanks to Katie and the Hemline gals and Jeremy and Michael!!!

Fun Stuff

I'm going to have field days with this! I could just write of ton per day of the What to Wear daily slips. In retrospect the notepad comes in handy when someone stops to ask me what to wear. I didn't have it with me when my co-worker asked me what to wear for an all black attire event. I explained in detail from hair to make-up to accessories. It's now in my purse! Book of the month series

Every month I will make sure to post a book based on fashion, beauty, or art. Whatever stikes the match! I recently purchased a book named 'Fashion Designers' Stretchbook' by Hywel Davies. Here's a bit of infomation about the book. 'Fashion Designers' Stretchbook' explores many major names working in the fashion industry today. Photographs, stretches, mood boards, line-ups, toiles, fabric swatches and more all contribute to the creation of ideas for fashion designs, and they bought together for the first time to show how the final work is conceived and developed. Hywel Davies is a freelance fashion writer based in London.

Sad news today

Young designer Jonas Bevacqua founder of LRG dies today. I have a boyfriend, 2 brothers and guy friends who are 'advocate' wearers of LRG apparel for many years. Sad to hear about fashion pioneers that have made a positive impact lose their life early.

Upcoming Events...Cut! Costume and the Cinema

The Louisiana Art & Science Muesum in Baton Rouge is holding a new exhibit featuring 43 period film costumes from some memorable movies. This will display now through July 31st. What you'll find; Keira Knightly's costume as Georgiana in 'The Duchess', and the ever so sexy and talented Johnny Depp's costume from 'Pirates of the Caribbean'. I'll be sure to add images from my future visit. Details, details, details is a must for inspiration!

New Discovery

I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with the designer/artist for To Be Contiuned Vintage Jewelry Undone. Nancy Rhett is one of a kind just like her designs. She takes recycled silk sari from Nepal and even vintage silk Hermes scarves then adds vintage brooches, pendants, and trinkets to make come to life again. Excellent Find

In one of my recent shopping spree at Anthropologie I encountered some of the cutest must have to add instant glam! A pair of large gold teardrop hoops with critine color stones wired throughout the lower half. A nice addition to an everyday causal look. I've worn them already with a black tank from WilliamRast Target collection and army green linen cargos from Victoria's Secret and Elizabeth and James rust leather woven clogs. Black shades to finish the look. I really enjoy shopping for one of kind style jewelry from Anthropologie. I also have a favorite pair I will purchase in the near future. (2nd photo)

Fall in Love with Fall 2010

I pulled some looks from Fall 2010 runway that inspires me. Sahara meets winter chic. Wow, something about this look from DVF fall collection just screams boho meets city woman coming through! Peter Dundas has really been my man for the past 3 seasons of Emilio Pucci. I can post the entire collection but I chose a few for right now. I see one sexy maxi style gown (not posted) to be a hit for summer!

"Make It Work"

As you are aware of all the high fashion designers working with retailers such as Wal-Mart, Target, H&M, etc... I decided to invest in a brand from Wal-Mart. Remember! Fashion comes with style, and style is anywhere.
I found a really cute black short romper with 80's gold deco buttons all over. So I thought, it's cute, black, shorts, humid summer days, not my style of buttons, and cheap! For $15, my new romper and I went straight to my favorvite fabric shop on St. Charles Ave, Promenade. I found the best boho-brassy textured buttons to add on for just under 10 bucks.

EYELASH MIRACLE

Ok I maybe one of many people that didn't need longer, thicker eyelashes but I had to jump on the bandwagon on all these products that are meant to grow beautiful lashes. I've been using Revitalash for about a 6 months now, off and on because I tend to forget to apply at night. It truly works! Super Bowl!!!

YAY! New Orleans won the bid on where SuperBowl will be for the upcoming year. I was hoping for N.O. to win. This city needs it. Now lets get the Saints playing for SuperBowl, now that's a challenge!! Haha!

Dress For Success

Great oppurtunity always come when you look sharp and have a positive attitude.

Always a classic look for daily duties without looking overdone is;
dark demin jeans, classic solid color button-up, 2 inch or more heel or sandal. Accessorize with 1 bold piece of jewelry, perferably a necklace or bracelet. I really like a nice watch, that's something you will never go wrong with. Don't forget your hangbag, keep it fun yet professional.

Remember, you'll never know who you will bump into so look great when it happens, and that can be your chance of a lifetime!
